In 2005 I would have put all my money on this to win. The performance had everything. The song was a mix of late 90s new wave and Stomp! With actual power tools and an incredible stage routine, "Let Me Try" felt like the one to beat. Then there was the singer herself, she could belt the song out flawlessly. She performed the song to perfection each time. How did it lose?! To be honest, I'm still baffled. It won the semi-final, but when it came to the final I'm afraid it performed too early in the night. Performing fourth, after a strong ballad and just before a glam rock song, by the time it came to voting, people had all but forgotten about this powerhouse of a song. Still, it's such a good song and performance that this Romanian entry is constantly remembered as one of the best Eurovision songs to miss the prize.

Semi-Final Score: 235 pts (1st place out of 25)
