2007: The Honorable
SEREBRO WITH "SONG #1" FOR RUSSIA

If you would've told me in 2007 that Serebro (pronouned sehr-REH-bro) would become one of my favorite bands today, I would've laughed at you. They've changed a lot, in fact, only one of the members who performed in Helsinki is still in the group. But still, their legacy began that night, and now, Serebro are one of the biggest groups in Russia to this day.
I was already a fan of the man who wrote this song, but I didn't think this was his best. At first the song annoyed me, but eventually, I fell in love with it. He released oodles of remixes of the song, each presenting the composition in different genres. From downtempo to hard rock, the song proved to be extremely versatile. Their next singles proved to be pure perfection and now, like I said, they are giant stars in their native country. Founding member Lena Temnikova has a thriving solo career while Olga has taken the lead as head lyricists for Serebro. Other founding member, Marina, is now an accomplished painter! Strangely enough, like another 2007 contestant Verka, Serebro also had a song featured in the 2015 film "Spy." Whoever made that movie obviously watched the Helsinki show!
