Many people ask why countries don't send bigger artists, usually citing British acts but they don't realize that often or not countries really do send their best. Well, the Netherlands got sick of never qualifying for the final so they brought in one of their biggest artists hoping to change their luck in Eurovision.

Anouk has released 10 albums and has had many hits in her home country and Belgium. When it was announced she was representing The Dutch people, it seemed like the country had an awakening. Finally, since 2004, The Netherlands qualified for the final. They learned from Sweden that the best way to get noticed in Eurovision is to actually send a hit song. This folk pop ballad rose high above all the entries as Anouk provided a professional and emotional rendition on stage. It deserved to do well and it did, placing in the top 10 both nights.
