DINO MERLIN WITH "LOVE IN REWIND" FOR BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Dino Merlin has had quite the career. He has been recording since the early 80s and in 1993 he wrote the first ever entry for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Eurovision. He even wrote the lyrics to the national anthem for the country that was used from 1992-1998. He has His folky pop tune with it's subtle mix of Bosnian and English is just the sort of tune I'm looking for from Eurovision.

The Balkan voting block always made sure one of two of the former Yugoslavian countries would qualify. Sure enough, Dino's charming performance and huge popularity in Southern Europe ensured a good place. I really, naively, hoped it could win the final. That is until it was drawn for the unlucky 2nd place. In the 61 years, still, no country has ever won performing at the 2nd place. He still got a good 6th place but I was hoping for something higher.
