70 years before the 2012 contest, USSR dictator Stalin destroyed many churches throughout Russia. One of these churches was in the village of the Buranovo region in the Udmurt Republic. Decades later, after so long without a local church, a group of seniors had an idea that maybe they could earn enough money to rebuild their church if they could just win the Eurovision Song Contest.

The song is literally about baking goods for their grandchildren and preparing for their grandkids arrival so they can all fun have together. "Party for everybody, dance!" after all. This song was a huge deal in 2012. This song is every bit a novelty, but as far as novelty records go - this one is hard to be angry with. Sung in the Udmurt language, unheard of on the Eurovision stage before, and with most adorable grandma's on the planet. It was deemed unstoppable, people were absolutely certain it would win. It didn't but the success was enough for them to earn enough to build their church, so it all seemed to turn out alright.
