Cascada are a globally known German dance-pop group with many massive hit singles including "Everytime We Touch" and "Evacuate The Dancefloor." 2013 was the second year that I watched almost all of the national finals and I was rooting for them to win the German competition. When they did, Eurovision fans, confusingly, cried foul claiming the song plagiarized last years winner. It left me wondering if those people have eardrums?

Sure they're both EDM style pop songs. Sure, one is called "Euphoria" and the other is "Glorious" which, yes, are synonyms. Other than that the chord progressions, synths, melody and almost everything else about this song is different. This was probably my most played song from 2013 but was it as great as "Euphoria" was? No. It was still too similar for Europe and the established group finished sixth to last. I don't think they quite deserved that, but the performance wasn't quite as 'glorious' as the recorded song is.

Final Score: 18 pts (21st place out of 26)
