DUSTIN THE TURKEY WITH "IRELANDE DOUZE POINTE" FOR IRELAND

Oh boy, it seemed like Ireland had given up. They were sending a Turkey puppet. This was the first song to get boos in a long time because, "Irelande Douze Pointe," mocked the contest. Even I know that's a bad idea.

It was rumored that due to a financial crisis in Ireland they couldn't afford to host the contest if they won, so they were throwing it. They knew sending an obvious gimmick act would annoy the hardcore Eurovision fan base. When it came to the score it got the night of the second-final, I can only imagine the 22 points it got were as a joke.
