2012: The Worst

Before I can even get to this mess of a song, I feel like I need to explain San Marino. Yes, it is a country in Europe. In fact, it's one of the world's oldest continuing nations. It's located in the mountains in the northern part of the Italian peninsula. South of Venice, east of Tuscany if that helps. Or you can look it up, the internet has all this information on it.

So, San Marino had been competing for a few years now without much notice. That was until, Valentina Monetta came around. She became a huge star after this song came out, because - damn, it is so bad. The preview video, the actual song, is just one giant trainwreck. First the song was straight up called "Facebook Uh, Oh, Oh (A Satirical Song)" before they were told it couldn't compete with such a blatant trademark in the title. So it was simply changed to what it became and nothing was really fixed. If anything the song became sillier. One positive thing happened from all this though, Europe finally recognized that San Marino existed. Thanks Valentina!
