The Good, The Bad and The Hilarious
2003: The Guilty
I was quite enamored with this Latin flavored dance-pop song. In “Tell Me (trans. from Spanish)” Beth sings her heart out in spit-fire Spanish in a very compelling melody.
2003: The Worst
To be fair, the recording of this song is fine. It’s not really that bad of a Spanish flavored tune and it’s even pretty catchy.
2003: The Best
Urban Trad are a Belgian group made up of both Flemish and French members, with heavy influence from the Galicia region in north western Spain just above Portugal.
The Best, The Worst, The Guilty, The Weird and The Hilarious!
Hi! My name is Greg, I’m from Pennsylvania USA and I Love Eurovision. I started watching the contest in 2003, so I'll be reporting on 7 songs from each year starting then. The Best is the most artistically interesting song. The Worst is usually when they flubbed the performance. The Guilty is my guilty pleasure song from that year. The Weird, eh, you'll get it! And The Hilarious is of course the funniest song of the year! I'll of course feature The Winner too. Also, there will be an honorary mention (known as The Honorable) for songs that I liked that don't fit into any of those categories! So keep an open mind, open ears and take a look what former BBC Commentator Sir Terry Wogan (RIP) called at the beginning of the very first contest I watched in 2003 "The most enduring enigma in all contemporary European culture. Is it subtle pageant of post-modern irony? Is it a monumental piece of kitsch? Is it just a load of old Plasticine? Who cares?!"
